How to Handle YourJob Interview
To ensure your interview success and career growth, you have to learn what is expected of you in your job interview:
Initially, ensure you are on time. First impressions count, and you cannot afford to turn up late. Make a plan of how you are going to arrive at the destination 10 to 15 minutes ahead of time. This will allow you time to calm yourself down, before you enter the job interview room.
You must dress for success. Your picture will be largely determined by how you are dressed. You have to appear to be the most capable interview candidate who has turned up that day.
Do not distract from the impression that you are trying to create. Do not forget to turn your mobile phone off and please dont go in with your sunglasses still on.
Introduce your self with confidence. Shake your interview panel member’s hand with a firm grip and a pleasant smile, while you tell them your name. If you smile, you will appear confident to the interview panel – even if you do not feel it.
You shouldn’t stare at the interviewer, but you should spend a fair amount of time looking the in the eye when you are talking. If you find yourself interviewed by a panel, devote 80% of your eye contact to the panel member, who asked you the question and turn your head occasionally to the remaining job interview panel members.
Keep your body language open, so that you will look honest and trustworthy. Note how you behave during an interview and adjust to demonstrate that you are listening and interested in the post. Try sitting forward slightly whilst being upright in your interview chair. Keep your hands calm and not waving around or fiddling with your hair. Try to avoid habits such as repetitive, foot tapping or tongue clicking. You will be worried during your job interview, just try not to make it obvious.
With a bit of luck, these ideas will help you be successful in your job job interview.
