A Getaway to Australia
Friday, September 10th, 2010Australia’s a wonderful place. We’ve just got home after a great visit. We learned plenty during our stay, so here are some travel suggestions:
Fly directly into Melbourne for the least expensive air fare. It was the cheapest by around $175 at the time we flew.
Except if you wish to surf off the Gold Coast, travel in our summer, their winter. It’s possible to buy prices for $100 less in winter. It was close to 70 degrees at the warmest in the south, which was wonderful weather to walk around in.
For local facts and guidance the tourist information centers are terrific.
A hire car is a must! Without a doubt, you will need to hire a car. Travelling around in Australia is simple if you rent a car. It?s easy and quick, and you?ll pay out so a lot less and get to see a lot more. Allow me to share some prices:
Car rental Melbourne (far South): $36 to $71 per day.
Car hire Gold Coast (close to Brisbane, the famous surf area): $34 to $60 per day.
Car rental Darwin (far North): $42 to $60 per day.
First priority after we got off the aircraft was the Melbourne car hire office. It took only fifteen minutes, and we were on the road. During our stay in Melbourne, we went to the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, about an hour?s journey from Melbourne, and each and every museum in the place, I think.
Next on the schedule was a journey from Melbourne to Brisbane where we went directly to car rental Gold Coast. Departing the car hire Gold Coast we drove all around the Gold Coast. There are a myriad of exceptional seafood dining places and the vistas is the best.
After the delights of the Gold Coast we looked forward to going to Darwin. You’re there before me! Directly to the car hire Darwin at the airport, after that to Mindil Beach Sunset Market. Darwin’s a lot further north and the weather was much hotter, in the 90’s, but it didn’t seem so hot due to the sea breezes. Waiting around for a taxi or coach in that sort of heat wouldn’t have been any joy; so pleased we rented a car.
Australia’s so large there are so many things we couldn’t get to see. It was a fantastic visit however and I’d really like to return.
