Be Alert – Choose Halal Gelatin

Monday, March 16th, 2009

So, are you being alert enough all this while about what you eat whether it’s halal or not? Or you just take things easy, thinking everything is going to be okay. Maybe you just ignore it and wishing it will go away so you can sleep well all through the night. Well, my friends…one thing for sure it is always at the back of your head. You just don’t want to think about it, you just telling yourself it’s nothing. All the food I take is Halal!

Hmm…sometimes, it’s much easier if we just choose to eat only fish or eggs right? Or maybe just vegetables because it’s halal and you don’t have to worry about anything else anymore. But for how long? After a day or two, you start looking for chicken, beef etc… Then you starts to wonder again, whether it’s slaughtered according to the Islamic law… Somehow, your mind will still be curious, wondering whether it’s halal or not. You can always ignore it and just eat it whatever you like. But those thought that always haunting you, “Am I taking prohibited food?, it’s unlawful food but why do I still eat it? …the gelatin is produce from pig fats, derived from pig bones! Did I eat the pig fats all these years?” Oh God Almighty!

What about desserts? Ever wonder whether it’s halal or not? I must say this my friends, 90% of ingredients in any desserts, used GELATIN. And most of the gelatin are made from pigs and if it’s from a cow, it is unsure whether it’s been slaughtered according to Islamic law or not. The productions of cakes, puddings, ice cream, jelly, frozen salad, chocolates, gums and many-many more delicious desserts, used GELATIN FROM PIGS because it’s a lot cheaper from cow!!!

Be Alert! Be Alert! …Owner of any muslim restaurant around the world, please!, please! BE MORE RESPONSIBLE towards this matter!. The chef, you must know whether what you’re serving is halal or not. You may be serving just a simple puddings or a slices of cakes or even a scoop of ice cream for desserts, but big responsible towards Islam law, lies in your hands! Don’t just acting like everything is okay. Be Alert…choose halal gelatin!

Mothers, housewives please BE MORE RESPONSIBLE towards your family!. Be Alert of what you eat, recognised the food that you serve to your family. Always ask yourselves, is it halal?. You need to be sure what you are serving to your family or your childrens. It has to be hygiene, lawful and HALAL!…

Now, you starts feeling worry already after you have discovered that all the desserts you have been eating all these years is unlawful food isn’t it? YES! You have to be worry, you have to feel uneasy right now! It’s for the good of your family.

BUT, worry no more! The solutions for this is very simple. It’s in the front of you, just choose…halal gelatin. Of course you have to cook yourselves. Well at least you know that you are serving halal food for your family or maybe wherever you go, just sponsor the chef with the halal gelatin. So now you have done Islamic law requirement for being a true muslim. You know how big the sacrifice is that? Well think again though…as for now, “BE ALERT…CHOOSE HALAL GELATIN!”

One World Order: The “Return of the Khalifate” An Opinion – Part 2

Monday, March 16th, 2009

One World Order; The “Return of the Khalifate.” An Opinion. Part 2.
To control the News is to control the worlds knowledge. In order to understand what this all means to us we must look into the past to see the future. In Daniel 7:25 we see that the Anti-Christ will attempt to forgive sins and trespasses, in His name.(For He shall declare that He is God.) Which being contrary to reason and to scripture. For a dictatorial rule to become effective, all subjects must be kept in submission by, 1. Power, I.E. Force.(Military and Secret Police.) and 2. Mind set, I.E. Mind control. (Propaganda.)

“And he shall speak great words (A great Orator.) against the most High (“the most High” is representitave of two Individuals, 1. God and 2. Jesus The Christ.), and shall wear out the saints of the most High (Placing burdens upon them.), and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”(7 years).

The Laws that we see here are the laws of the norman or natural, instances of Religion and of the Land itself. We will see natural Laws changed to suite His needs, such as the Laws of the Mohamidism Creed. According to the Foundation’s vision of the Khalifate, significant punishment can only be meted out for 14
crimes, including “accusing a chaste person of fornication,” “not performing the formal prayer,” and “not fasting during Ramadan.”( This could possibly be a prelude to the mark of the beast (666), knowing who and whom isn’t a follower of the Khalifate.)

T.S.K. In assuming infallibility, professing to forgive sins, and to open and shut heaven, thundering out bulls and anathemas, excommunicating princes, absolving subjects from their allegiance, and exacting obedience to his decrees in open violation of reason and Scripture. To gain total control he must change the Laws of Man and Religion. Just as spoken of in Daniel.
When you want to control mass numbers of people you must,
1. Control Money.(World Banking System. The World Bank provides support to developing countries, the IMF aims to stabilize the international monetary system and monitors the world’s currencies.)
2. Commerse.(Control of World Ports, Babylon The Great.
The Dubai company purchasing the rights to operate several U.S. ports has agreed to postpone some aspects of the takeover in order to give the Bush administration more time to convince Congress of the deals merits. Some lawmakers say this is a step in the right direction; others are not mollified. If the East Coast of America is Babylon the Great, this action by The Dubai company, an Arab State, then Revelations would be easily fulfilled.

Revelations 18:9-11; And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: ( This is the total destruction of The city’s sea ports.) For any sea port to come in line with the prophecy of Babylon, it must be a supplier of all things mentioned in Revelations. I have found only one that fits this description. The Eastern coast line of the United States.

Jeremiah 51:8-9 Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.
We would have healed Babylon ( Money isn’t enough to re pare the utter destruction.), but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven( This must be a judgment from God.), and is lifted up even to the skies.(The destruction is so massive that there would be no need for these buyers and sellers to remain.)

Isaiah 21:9 And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen.(World Leaders, some minor and two major leaders.) And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods (Financial Institutions, Stock Markets, Govermential Facility’s, The Gold Reserve Bank, Livestock Auctions, The Scientific Community and Museums. Ect.) he hath broken unto the ground.
3. Food, (Conglomerations of Farming Institutions and Produce Suppliers.) and the most important 4. Religion. (The One World Religion. In My opinion this could be one of these two. 1.Catholicism. 2. Mohamidism.(Islam.) A North American DJ/radio show host was warned by his boss – ‘No more anti-terror talk, no more pro-Israel talk’. Has America lost it’s right to free speech? In Part 3 we will look at the differences between; 1.Catholicism. 2. Mohamidism.(Islam.)

A Quick Guide to Why Hair Thinning Happens to Women as Well as Men

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Thinning of the hair is perhaps one of the most upsetting diseases men and women have ever fight with. Many people think of their hair as; an essential ingredient of one’s true identity, a main part of one’s self. Hair and hair loss is regularly looked at as symptoms of one’s true age. That is undoubtedly why people are always afraid at any time they are faced with the prospect of loosing their hair. Therefore people continuously do everything they are able to do and trust whatever they hear purely to make certain that they save that fantastic hair of theirs as thick and as strong as can be.

Hair thinning can take place to women & is more frequent following the menopause; yet; alopecia is very unlikely to happen in all cases. Instead, in a great number of cases the victim will only witness increased hair loss & thinning of the scalp, early treatment regimes can help the effect. Although alopecia is usually reasonable in men it is unacceptable in females & in countless cases it can have demoralising impact on the sufferer’s emotional situation & confidence. However you ought not despair – hair loss can be cured & stopped if you have recognised what is causing it & what you ought to do.

By far the most ordinary sort of hair loss seen in ladies is androgenetic alopecia, also branded as female pattern alopecia or baldness. This is seen as hair thinning predominantly over the crest & sides of the head. It is reported to affect approximately 33% of all vulnerable females, but it is most typically seen soon after menopause, though it may perhaps start as early on as puberty. On average hair fall is essentially one hundred to one hundred and twenty five hairs each day. Luckily, these hairs are replaced by the mechanisms in the body. It is without a doubt true that baldness occurs when lost hairs are not replaced or when the daily hair shed exceeds one hundred and twenty-five hairs. Genetically, baldness can come from either of your parent’s part of the family tree. If you are scared that your hair might fall out, then a free hair check would be a great thing. Take a look at the Advanced Hair Studio website to find more information.

Save Your Free Child Trust Fund Voucher with Scottish Friendly, so Your Child Can Have a Large Lump Sum of Money when They Get Older

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

So what is this Child Trust Fund that all the talk is about? Are you one of the lucky people who are in the know about the Child Trust Fund? Are you clued up on the Child Trust Fund? Hardly any mothers and fathers startling

modest number of parents seem to realise that all newly born babies are given a free £250 voucher from the government to put. Your son or daughter’s vouchercan be invested in any one of threekinds of CTF account, Stakeholder – a shares-based account that swapsinto cash, a savings account or a shares account. It is an excellent way to for the future life of a young person

Scottish Friendly is an accredited provider of the Child Trust Fund Voucher. The Government is keen for the general public to have access to Stakeholder accounts and this is the type of account that we are offering. This means that:

• Investments are saved into Scottish Friendly’s Managed Growth Fund, which intends to provide good growth potential
• An investment is made partly in shares to make the most of potentially higher returns over 18 years, compared to a cash deposit account (although the value of shares canfall as well as increase whereas capital would be protected in a deposit account)
• It is available with a low ‘Stakeholder’ funds charge of just 1.5% per year
• At age 18 the young person will get a lump sum, totally free of Capital Gains and Income Tax under current legislation
• It’s affordable – additional payments can be put in the account from as little as £10

An attractive feature of the Child Trust Fund is that anyone – parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends – can add to the Fund to a ceiling of £1,200 per year to help augment the child’s Fund (once added, this money may not be withdrawn).

In a nutshell our Stakeholder account offers a good balance between possible high returns and a lower level of risk. There’s also the extra assurance that our account complies with the Government’s stakeholder criteria. Nonetheless this doesn’t mean that returns are guaranteed or that Stakeholder accounts are appropriate for everyone. Remember that the value of shares in the Managed Growth Fund (where your Child Trust Fund money is placed) can go down as well as increase and is not guaranteed.

Only infants born on or after 1st September 2002 are allowed to start up a Child Trust Fund. If you have older children who are not eligible you could consider saving for them with a Child Bond – it’s a tax-free savings plan looking for long-term growth. It is undoubtedly the case that saving for your children is a sensible means of preparing for hard times that may lie ahead.

Research on Outsourcing Is Needed

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Some students in business and economic classes at major Colleges and Universities are doing research on outsourcing. Very smart thing to study indeed. Outsourcing is not a bad thing as many Unions believe. It means efficiency and is good to bring the world closer together in this way. One very interesting case study is Sara Lee, which sold all its factories and then contracted others to make their product.

If you look at companies like HP and the way they have their products made all over the world you can see the same thing. Also now Boeing does the same thing too. You see it also makes sense from a sales perspective, as if you outsource all these things to other places then they will want to buy your aircraft over another company which does not provide jobs or have factories in that country you see?

Many people who are union employees complain about these things, yet do not see the World Wide sales benefits or the fact that in making the products for less money give the company an advantage and the company is more efficient, as things can be made closer to where raw materials are and you save supply chain transportation monies too.

If a company like Boeing can outsource to companies in nations with cheaper labor, nations which may buy their aircraft and nations with near by natural resources to build those parts everyone wins and the economies of scale are fully realized and the bonus? Well Boeing sells more aircraft over Airbus. If they do not outsource, the costs of aircraft go up, they sell fewer aircraft and eventually will fall to the competition. I hope you consider this in 2006.

Outsourcing Sales & Marketing: When Does It Work?

Monday, March 9th, 2009

The Age of Outsourcing and Sales and Marketing. Today, now more than ever, companies need to go outside to find partners, consultants, inter-management solutions, and service providers who can help them to cover the range of their needs of sales and marketing. As new rules have been invented regarding lead generation, the internet, and more complexity has come into the sales and business development and marketing model of most companies, it’s very difficult for you to keep up with all of the skill sets that are required in order to be on the top of your company’s game and maintain best practices across all of those functional areas. So, companies are looking increasingly to bring in outsourced service providers who can provide them with fractional management or contract personnel or ongoing outsourcing and consulting to cover the needs that they’re not capable of keeping in house or cannot justify to have on a full time basis.

Outsourcing covers a range of different types of functional areas, including search engine optimization, pay per click management, and product management / product marketing. Many companies go through launch phases of new products or product requirements or definition in new product planning cycles that require having those resources around. But they don’t need them on a permanent basis once a new product has been defined, built, launched, and handed off into the sales force. Copywriting is another area where a lot of companies look to outsource that capability in the marketing side for creating new brochures, collateral, web design copy, etc. Many companies would love to have a graphics design and internet marketing capability in house, but they simply can’t afford or justify doing that on a full time basis, yet this does work perfectly in an outsourced model, where you have a full service web design company that can build your online web site pages, conversion mechanisms, landing pages, microsites, etc. and deploy those for your company. So, these are just some of the many examples of areas where companies need to consider outsourcing in order get all their work done.

At the management level, many companies can’t justify having a full time VP of Marketing or a Director of Business Development, but what they can justify is having an interim management solution or fractional management solution. Some companies that are trying to get to the next level would love to have that top executive on the marketing side but it’s just simply too expensive and they can’t afford it. So what do they do? Often times, they do nothing, and as a result, are not capable of moving their business forward in their target markets and really executing a proactive marketing strategy.

This is a perfect example of where fractional management or outsourcing of a management function or interim management of that function can make a lot of sense and can be done without bearing the full cost of a full time employee. Smart companies are using fractional VPs of marketing who are top marketing professionals to come in and help them plan and execute their marketing programs even if they’re not on a full time basis. This provides a wonderful solution: a company can get a part of a senior marketing manager without paying full time for it. So if you’re company is thinking about how to get its sales and marketing to the next level, you might want to consider what your outsourcing and fractional interim management strategy is and how you can put new resources to work for your company on an interim or part time basis, or on a project basis that will help you to round out the skills sets of your company and accelerate your sales.

Of course, there are some positions in your company that you simply cannot afford to outsource and you need a permanent hiring or recruiting solution for those positions. A good example of that is your VP of sales. Very few companies would consider outsourcing their VP of sales duties to an outsource company. When they do, of course, there are fractional management solutions that are available from companies like ours. But, a more common notion is that a VP of sales has got to be somebody who is really dedicated to full time, permanent or regular position inside the company. In those cases, it makes perfect sense for you to find a recruiting company to help you search for, screen, and find a top sales leader to come into your company and help you build and execute your sales strategy.

A lot of times a company is on sort of the edge of where they’re not sure if it’s time for them to have an in house solution on a permanent basis or if they could go with a fractional solution. Part of the issue is how core the function is to your long term strategy as a company, and how strategic it is really for the execution of your business model. But there are many functions inside a company that cannot be outsourced and must be kept in house. And in those cases, finding a partner who can help you to recruit those resources and bring them into your company is absolutely critical to accelerating your sales and generating top line growth, transforming your sales, and growing your business.

When does it make sense to outsource part of your management sales and marketing or business development management functions to an outsourced service provider? One of the examples is, if your company has a tactical marketing team of marketing communications specialist, doing advertising, internet marketing, direct mail or organizing trade shows, but you can’t afford a full time manager inside the company, you still need somebody who can provide planning, oversight, and leadership to that team. If you’re a CEO, who is an engineering, operations or finance oriented person, you’re probably not the best person to guide this team and bring best practices into the company and marketing.

That person can participate in your quarterly management team meetings, in your company’s planning cycle, including doing strategic marketing planning, developing your go to market strategy, segmenting and maintaining your updated competitive analysis, doing those kinds of projects, or at lease overseeing them at a high level, and helping your company to provide top level oversight of the execution of your marketing programs. That’s a perfect example of where having a fractional VP of marketing, on an outsourced basis from a consulting or service provider, can make a lot of sense. Another example is, when you’ve brought a new product to market and you’ve realized that the best way to bring that product to market is through third party distribution channels and you already have a channel management function set up for system integrators, VARs or OEMS, but what you want to do is you want to deploy a new channel for this particular product line.

This is a perfect project to outsource to an interim VP of business development or interim director of business development…a rainmaker who can go out and research, target, identify, screen, and select a new channel of distribution for your new product line. Or, perhaps your company has already got a system of integrators providing a technical solution that bundles your product into a full turn key solution for your clients, but you’ve now come up with a shrink wrapped, office shelf product that can really be sold with less value added and less integration and you have a channel organization that’s set up to run your system integrators but you don’t have anybody who’s capable of going and finding OEMs or more traditional VARs for that product. Here, you can easily bring in an outsourced or fractional or interim VP of business development to set up that channel for you, get it going, make sure that it’s running smoothly and producing the sell through that you’re looking for, and then handed over to your normal channel management organization.

Homeschool Your Child Using Themed Based Curriculum

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Themes are a fun way to homeschool your child. A theme can be created from any topic that your child is interested in. A theme is simply a base topic from which you can teach from in your lesson plans. A few examples of themes are apples, bats, zoo, space, fun in the sun, or even Dr. Seuss. You can choose just about any topic that you would like for your theme. Using themes will make your lesson plans more creative, fun and interesting.

Themes usually have a time frame from which they are based around. Themes can last from one week all the way to one month depending on how in depth you want to approach your theme. I would suggest using a theme no longer than two weeks with your homeschool child. Incorporating themes into your homeschool lesson plans is really quite simple and you and your child will both enjoy the fun that comes with creating a theme based lesson plan.

Themes do not have to be incorporated into every teaching objective for the week. You can be selective and use themed based curriculum once or twice a day, throughout your homeschool lesson plans. Get your child involved into your lesson planning process. Have your child help choose themes that are interesting to him. When children are actively involved in the lesson planning process and given choices they are more eager to learn. I suggest getting your child involved in all aspects of lesson plan preparation to keep their interests.

Let’s take the theme apples as an example of using themes in your lesson plans. In science, you can dissect an apple and look at the apple seeds or you could discuss how apples grow. In math, you could dissect an apple into halves and fourths. In social studies, you could learn about Johnny Appleseed. In language arts, you can read many books related to apples and even write your own apple related paragraph. During art, you can make apple prints using cut up apples with paints. In P.E., you can have an apple toss, jump over apples, or even bobbing with apples. For music time, you can find many songs related to apples to sing with your child. Make homemade applesauce, apple muffins, or apple butter for your cooking class. You can make interactive bulletin boards using apple projects that your child creates.

The most important factor in using a themed based curriculum with your child is to integrate the themes into your child’s objectives that need to met for the school year. A nice blend of themes into your curriculum base objectives can be both fun and rewarding for your child. Make learning fun and interesting by incorporating theme based curriculum into your lesson plans.

WRITING TO EXCEL

Title: WRITING TO EXCEL Author: Arthur Zulu Contact Author: mailto: controversialwriter@yahoo.com Copyright: Copyright © Arthur Zulu 2002 Word Count: 600 Web Address: http://www.1stbooks.com/bookview/10975

WRITING TO EXCEL By Arthur Zulu

“Of all the arts in which the mind excel”, says one writer, “nature’s chief masterpiece is writing well”. But before we begin writing our best seller, I will ask you to re- read the beginning of this book. Or do you still remember those negative questions often asked by novices?

Well, I would want to assume you have outlived the “nattering nabobs of negativism” (by Spiro Agnew), and are now set to write. Some, however, have asked the following questions, and the answers will help you get started.

What Do I Need to Write? Simple. Use the traditional materials — pen and paper. I prefer them. The reason is that it is easier for me to put my thoughts in writing as fast as they come. It makes the work more natural, honest and unpretentious. And you also know that a notebook and a pen, are very portable. You could be doing your thing while seated in a bus, train, or plane (without the terrorists).

But if you can type as fast as you think, a typewriter or even the computer is okay. So, what is sauce for the goose, may not be sauce for the gander. The important thing here is, use a writing means that can get your thought down as fast as it comes. Shorthand and pictographs are excellent.

What is the Best Time and Place to Write? You know what is best for you. Some write in the morning, others prefer late at night. Some like quiet, lonely places, while others would not mind the radio on! Some have even tried to rouse their imagination through drugs and alcohol! And they say it works fine for them.

Well, I don’t require any intoxicants to write. And I wouldn’t ask you to take them in order to excel. What you need, however, is a conducive place and time. As for me, I write anywhere, anytime I get the muse.

You would have to know that the muses transcend borders and physical disabilities. Some have written books in prison– ask Wole Soyinka, the Nobel laureate. He did one in prison, titled THE MAN DIED.

What About Sources? “Writing is thinking, and thinking is work,” says Robert Bolt who wrote A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. Yes, you are going to think– think a lot. You will go into meditation and see “visions”, (I don’t mean to make you a prophet.)

Now, do you know how Mary Shelley came to write FRANKENSTEIN? She was holidaying in Switzerland with her husband, Percy Bysshe Shelley, the poet Lord Byron and another named Polidori. After familiarizing themselves with ghost stories, Lord Byron came up with the proposition: “We will each write a ghost story”.

Then each went to dream dreams, and Mary Shelley thought that to excel, she had to dream up the scariest story ever. And she beat them all with FRANKENSTEIN, the weirdest story before HARRY PORTER. Even Joseph, the dreamer, couldn’t have dreamt better. And her story became a classic!

So, having chosen the genre you want to write about, think of the best- selling book in that category. And aim to smash its record! Persevere in your dream, and when it has taken form, put it down in writing.

But you cannot dream in abstraction. Your first source of material is reading. Yes, be a voracious reader. You may read for pleasure, or on purpose. Read anything that interests you — newspapers, magazines, story, and scientific books.

And as you read, ask yourself: What is the writer saying? Why is he saying it? How is he saying it? The answers you get will help you comprehend, interpret and appreciate the book, together with the writer’s use of language.

You also have another source — observation. How do you observe things? Do you look at them closely? Or do you just take a cursory look? You may have missed a great discovery.

Now, come to think of it. Which invention was ever made without a keen observation followed by an inference — from cause to effect, or from effect to cause.

Remember Isaac Newton observing a falling apple (gravity), Achimedes jumping out of a pool of water and solving the riddle of the king’s crown (Eureka!), or Mungo Park following the river course and “discovering” the River Niger (I saw with infinite pleasure the great object of my mission….)

So, in your daily activities, make it a habit to observe closely; who knows, right in your garden, you may discover the remains of an extinct dinosaur!

Third, you would have to draw materials from your personal life experiences — what you have seen or heard of people, places and things. Who was it that said experience is the best teacher?

He was probably right. People have written masterpieces and autobiographies based on their life experiences. Like Charles Darwin. Like Nelson Mandela.

So, what you are as a person, called the “persona”, and your life experiences must reflect in your work, whether you call it fiction, or non- fiction. And since books are a combination of facts and fiction, some have invented the coinage–faction, to represent the middle ground.

You have another last source of information — interview people, ask questions.

No man is a repository of knowledge, and if you do not have an inquisitive mind, you will continue to wallow in ignorance, which itself is a disease.

So, ask questions to get the information you seek, and follow with more questions to clarify the answers. Do not be timid, shy, or proud, to know. Remember that knowledge is power. Remember also that Socrates, the great philosopher, asked to know. And remember the words of Rene Descartes: “Dare to know!”

At this stage, I must mention the importance of the diary. Yes, carry one about, and make a daily entry of materials you like to use as they come. It may be of what you read, see or hear. And you must learn to be patient. Writers are the most disciplined persons on earth. I wrote a book in ten years!

Do not be frightened at that prospect. I wrote one also in six months. So, have a strong desire, and finish what you start!

Also note as you are going to write, that you are going to be a philosopher, sociologist, and psychologist, all in one.

You are going to invent characters and interpret their actions. You are going to create, and destroy civilizations. That is the might of the pen.

And as we now begin to write our best-seller in the next chapter, remember these words of Sir Francis Bacon: “Reading maketh a man, conference a ready man, and writing, an exact man”.

I totally agree with him. What about you?

If you only miss one single minute step it is liable to well trigger impassable setbacks and, preeminently, a failed investment.

Naturally, as can be expected with this popular region, real estate may well be high-cost in this destination which is, of course, simply a consequence of the peaking market demand. Nonetheless buyers are pretty spoilt in terms of choice in such an area characterized by tremendous site. It’s able to offer all anyone might hanker for, and more.

Accounts Payable: A Powerful Document Management and Workflow Solution

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Accounts payable is just one area of office management where problems arise because of the sheer complexity of transactions, and the vast amount of paperwork that is generated.

A disproportionate amount of time and administrative resources is consumed just getting invoices approved for payment. The problem becomes compounded when invoices are lost when being circulated for clearance and even more time is then lost in the retrieval process.

Typically these documents include purchase invoices from suppliers, sales invoices to customers and purchase orders generated by customers.

Even if missing documentation is successfully recovered from the system, the delay will have caused major inconvenience. If it is not recovered, the effects on business are routinely disruptive, and in extreme cases, disastrous.

TokOpen is a powerful document management and workflow software solution that goes far beyond conventional document capture and storage. Uniquely flexible, the package allows systems to be configured to meet customers’ specific needs.

How TokOpen works

Automated data entry allows invoices to be scanned, indexed and stored in the system, avoiding time-consuming manual entry. Automated reading can take two forms: either header reading (reference number, client name and amount); or full line item reading. Alternatively, invoice information can still be entered manually if required.

Once in the system, invoices are electronically routed through a workflow process that includes notifying all authorised staff when an invoice is waiting for their approval. Online reports are automatically generated where invoices awaiting approval are delayed or missing. These reports are configurable, so they can be set up to cover other factors critical to successful payment completion.

Internal security is built into the system, and access controls ensure that only authorised staff can open invoices or related documents. Audits are automatically maintained on all documents as they progress through the system, so each time they are accessed or amended, time, date, identity and activity details are logged.

Where associated documents are in the system, these are stored in the same file alongside invoices so they can be located quickly and easily. Access can be gained from other systems, in which case folders and documents are displayed in a standard Web browser.

Invoice approval is integrated with the rest of the accounts payable process, and invoices can be accessed via systems like SAP or JDE.

TokOpen in action – a case study

TokOpen is currently being used by a major Japanese multi-national, with multiple office locations in the UK. One office processes purchase invoices for all the other offices in the UK, and they are initially processed using the Oracle Financials system. For all new invoices, a barcode is generated and attached to each document.

An Accounts Clerk then scans all documentation into TokOpen. This is carried out from a dedicated scanning and indexing workstation, using TokOpen Sorting Office.

All documents are stored here and then uploaded on a daily basis to the TokOpen server, which is at another UK office location. Sorting Office reads the barcode and then looks up the original data in Oracle to extract additional index data such as invoice number, supplier number and site code.

Standard browser access

Most documents are retrieved via the users’ standard Web browser, using TokOpen Web, and a total of 260 staff use this means of access. A restricted number of users also have access to the TokOpen Desktop, and access is provided to individuals based on an approval hierarchy.

Invoices are handled using an efficient electronic workflow process. Once scanned, Invoice Status is set to Invoice Received. TokOpen ensures that users can only view documents that have been assigned to them in a particular workflow.

A strict authorisation hierarchy is in place, based on the size of the invoices being handled. So if a member of staff attempts to authorise an invoice that exceeds their authorisation limit, TokOpen automatically routes it to a staff member at the next authorisation level. This continues up the authorisation hierarchy until the invoice reaches a member of staff who has had clearance to sign off that invoice value, and payment is completed.

TokOpen brings together powerful and efficient document management, with easy-to-use, Web-based access.
