Graduation Stoles

Usually folded neatly on the morning of graduation ceremonies by most students as part of their graduation attire are graduation stoles. These are scarf- like clothes worn around the neck by students and faculty members alike and fall to the front and back. Graduation stoles come in different and are sometimes used by institutions to differentiate the students. Bridal satin is among the materials used to make the stoles and they often give them a classy look. Some students choose to put on embroidered or personalized graduation stoles while others would rather go for plain stoles. Some institutions provide the stoles for their students while others send the students to get their own. Either way, students should make sure their stole works for them on their graduation day.

Properties of Naveen Jain

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

A classic story of reaping the fruits of the courage to pursue one’s dreams and perseverance: former Microsoft employee Naveen Jain found himself lying on a bed of roses with all the properties and real estate he acquired after quitting as an executive for Bill Gate’s software empire in 1994. Establishing two companies and making the most out of his entrepreneurial skills, Naveen Jain was able to pull off his metamorphosis from employee to boss.

Naveen Jain has uncanny entrepreneurial skills; one only has to recall the startup success of the two business ventures he has built from scratch — InfoSpace and Intelius — to see that indeed, the man is a genius at manning helms. Though the InfoSpace collapse was really hyped in the world of information technology, Naveen Jain was able to bounce back with Intelius. Now, Intelius is one of the leading institutions in the information commerce industry, providing consumers with accurate background information and preventive services against identity theft.

No doubt that Naveen Jain has made a mark in his field of work and evolved into one of the IT industry’s most respected figures. As a matter of fact, he and his family live in his mansion, Diamanti, just blocks away from Naveen Jain’s former boss, Bill Gates.

The $13 million mansion boasts of an indoor swimming pool inside a two-story atrium made of glass, a two-story garage with a glass wall linked to the house so Naveen Jain can display his car collection if he wants, and myriad other facilities.

Aside from the 165,000-square foot Diamanti, Naveen Jain also acquired a $5.5 million mansion in Mercer Island, which was previously owned by Jean-Remy Facq, a former employee of InfoSpace. Apart from the Mercer Island mansion, Naveen Jain also acquired Facq’s 50-foot boat, 90-foot yacht, and the latter’s custom-made luxury rings, which are studded with expensive gemstones.

Mobile Broad Band will soon be the key to the Spread of High Speed Connections

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Mobile broadband is the trendiest achievement in the telecom technological world that is the secret to the development of high speed internet. Recently, broad band has been supplied on a simple phone landline, high speed connection, which connects to a computer using an ADSL modem or router. WI FI broadband will be increasingly spread, whereby the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line connection is linked to the PC terminal through a wireless intranet, and internet users are clearing their homes of ADSL cables. But mobile broad-band is pushing internet connections further and offering another important step in the technology of broadband; a broadband line nearly in any room without the need for a traditional telephone landline cable.

The idea of connecting with a fast high speed connection line in any room is appealing for potential users, like those people that generally use their laptops not from home. People who travel a lot for work are the target for mobile broadband who will like the chance of not having to search at all for a WiFi spot for a quite decent internet connection. Mobile broad band is going further than that, and if fees begin to go down and internet speeds get faster soon we will experience most of high speed internet clients applying for mobile fast speed connection. Compare mobile broadband deals and save money with Compare Broadband UK.

Mobile high speed connection works by attaching a modem to a computer, which is referred to as a ‘dongle’, from which your computer is able to use the mobile ADSL internet provider you have subscribed for. Internet companies are now supplying mobile broad band connections and coverage of the networks, which is well known as third generation networks, which now covers as much as 90% of England.

Connection speed is a serious issue with any broadband line and mobile broad-band suppliers at the beginning had problems to convince clients that one day mobile high speed internet could match up with conventional, landline high speed internet. Internet speeds are getting better, since Vodafone has reported mobile broadband speeds as fast as 7.3mb, which is similar to some of the traditional landline internet broadband. The majority of the countries, including the UK, will soon sponsor with huge amount of money in fibre optic cable networks, to improve broadband line to up to 100mb.

In New Zealand an important telecommunications supplier has said that mobile broadband networks are set to improve rapidly in the next future and they have said that mobile broadband could be delivering connections of up to 100mb by 2011, which coincides with the year the UK’s fibre optic network is to be delivered. This will create a major change in industry thinking, with the development of an efficient super fast mobile broadband network having obvious advantages over the cabling of thousands of Kms of fibre optic cables, not least from a practical point of view.

Article Writing & Marketing: On the Advantages of Hitting 100,000 Article Views

Friday, January 16th, 2009

What is an article view? An article view, as defined by EzineArticles.com, is simply “….the number of times this article has been viewed by visitors of EzineArticles.com.”

I saw it coming a few months back. My article views were growing by leaps and bounds. So I set a goal to reach 100,000 views by the end of 2005.

A few weeks ago I realized that this goal might be reached sooner than I had thought. In the last few days I had guessed it would be Monday or Tuesday. As I sat waiting for my 5pm counseling client today, I kept hitting the refresh button as the article view count crept toward 100K.

At 5:06 pm (my client was kind enough be late) the article view count hit 100,000.

The advantages of 100,000 views

As the members of TheArticleGuy.com and BuildingYourIdealPractice.com have heard me say on our teleseminars, I’m not telling you these things to impress you but to impress upon you the power and advantages of writing and marketing articles.

Prospects – As a result of my articles being distributed all over the internet, I get a constant stream of highly qualified prospects coming to my sights. Three more new subscribers joined while I was writing this article.

Publicity – As a result of article writing and marketing, my name is now known on the internet in at least 3 separate circles.

Profits – Many of the highly qualified prospects that visit my websites become customers and clients. It’s as simple, and powerful, as that.

What is keeping you from going for your prospects, publicity, and profits?

8 Tips to Get Publishers to Notice You

Friday, January 16th, 2009

If your articles aren’t getting published very often, or you just want to increase the chances of them being published, then you will benefit from the tips in this article.

1. Article Length

You should always keep you article 500 to 800 words long. If you can’t fit what you want to say into that amount of space, then break your article up into more than one part.

2. Resource Box Length

When writing your resource box, keep it 5 to 6 lines long. In a resource box you are simply trying to get people to request more information, not sell them something. If you want a longer ad, buy one!

3. Line Length

The lines in both your article and your resource box should be formatted to 60 to 65 characters per line. One of the consequences of not doing so is that, in some email programs, your article may appear with every line at a different length.

You can get your article formatted, as well as learning its character, line, and word count, at the following website for free. http://www.fwointl.com/FWOFormatter.html

4. Is Your Article Actually An Article?

Publishers want to provide their readers with actually useful information and you should want the same. If you write an article that is just a sales letter or press release it will be rejected 99 percent of the time.

5. Inactive Links

Before you even think about publishing or submitting your article check that all links within it are active and working. Nothing is more irritating than to click on a link for a site you’re interested in only to find out that it no longer exists.

6. Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar

If you submit your article and it’s full of errors it will be thrown into the trash folder so fast that your head will spin. Submitting articles with these types of errors not only makes you look extremely unprofessional, but it shows disrespect for both the publisher and their readers.

7. S*AM Triggers

As a courtesy, you should run your article through a program that will check it for triggers that could possibly get it rejected by filters. This isn’t a necessary step but it will definitely impress publishers and increase the chances of your article being published.

You can check your article for free at http://www.lyris.com/contentchecker.

8. Publisher Guidelines

This should be understood without having to say it, but it is still important enough to mention. Always, always, always follow the publisher’s guidelines when submitting an article to them. Not doing so will get your article rejected quicker than anything else.

Read this list, print it out, and keep it by you when you are writing an article. Read each tip and make sure that you are following it.

Making the above mistakes will insult the intelligence of both the publishers and their readers, as well as wasting your time and theirs.

Brandie King is a writer and author who teaches other writers how to write, as well as promote, using articles. She is currently looking for a wide variety of articles on a wide variety of topics for her article directory. You can submit absolutely free. http://www.articlesubmission.com

You are free to reprint this article in your ezine or ebook, or on your website, as long as the contents in the article and the resource box are not changed.

The Gambling Games Gambling Maniacs Take Part in: What You Need to Know about Betting Establishment Taking a Risk

Friday, January 16th, 2009

Assuming you have not caught on to gaming room games, then you’ll find more about that here.

By general definition a gambling saloon is a building that accomodates friendly gambling. At such a place, patrons are encouraged to take a risk at one-armed-bandits or trying out some other gambling pastimes. Gambling house games in the main have well calculated odds built in that promise the betting organization secures the upper hand above the guests.

A large amount of betting hall games may cause you to get addicted rapidly. Let’s meditate on the vintage 1-armed bandit, an electronic contraption with three plus discs which whirl if a handle coupled to it is tugged. The machine usually pays out correlating with a sequence of pictograms asvisible on the screen of the machine. Unfortunately, betting saloon games allow the fallacy of jurisdiction, thus conning the customer: the addressee is conceded options, but in actual fact they don’t really match the patron’s long term disadvantage. This is induced by the gaming hall never repaying the full stake as hoped for. This mode is often noticeable in acclaimed casino games like seven-card stud, dice, roulette or blackjack. Stud poker is a very an incredibly trendy casino pastime. The gamers, jealously guarding their obscured hands, will wager in the pot that is paid out to the winning gamester holding the winning hand. (Obviously, the coolest bluff may win too!)

usa free casino cash bonus

Commensurate with five-card stud poker, blackjack too is an immensely fashionable casino pastime. A considerable part of its popularity is owed to its peculiar mix of chance and skilfulness & decision making, not to mention a practice labeled “card counting”. It is a skill through which gambling enthusiasts can dramatically shift the probabilities of the card game to give them an advantage both by wagering & fundamental opetations in agreement with the cards deployed.

“Craps” is another well known gambling hall game utilizing the roll of two dice. Customers bet money on the score of one spin, or on a series of spins on two dice. Dissimilar to blackjack, there is no realistic winning strategy people could put to use to improve the odds.

Roulette is another notable game of chance — a croupier rotates a roulette wheel incorporating 37 (applies to French roulette) or 38 (American roulette) distinctively numbered places in which a tossed ball will finally settle, which marks the final winning number as well as its supplemental sequences. If the punter bets on a specific number and strikes it big meaning they’ve got a lucky hand, the promised profit is thirty five to one, the original wager will be rebated. So in total it is increased by 36.

Try to be attentive under all circumstances as all of such casino gambling pastimes are certainly obsessive. An incredible number of lives have been wrecked through gambling & much as it undeniably may be a lot of fun, please do endeavour to practise self-control.

Public Speaking: Get Them In Fun

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Sigmund Freud wrote:

“The most favorable condition for comic pleasure is a generally happy disposition in which one is in the mood for laughter. In happy toxic states almost everything seems comic. We laugh at the expectation of laughing, at the appearance of one who is presenting the comic material (sometimes even before he [she] attempts to make us laugh), and finally, we laugh at the recollection of having laughed.”

This concept has been termed ‘in fun’ by people that study public speaking humor. If you want your audience to laugh, they must be in fun. You, the speaker, must be in fun. The emcee or program coordinator must be in fun. The whole program should be designed in fun.

Don’t do anything to take them out of in fun. Don’t speak about controversial subjects like religion or politics and don’t make unfriendly comments to audience members. If a problem occurs which must be dealt with, find an in fun way of doing so. For instance, if I’m at a speaking engagement and someone asks me who I voted for I say, ‘I voted for the USA.’ That’s a cute way to say that I really don’t want to talk about it.

Retired National Speakers Association member and one of the greatest humorists of all time Dr. Charles Jarvis, told me about a friend of his who was excellent at speaking, but lost his audience when he forced someone to turn off a tape recorder. He was so nasty about the way he said it that the in fun audience totally turned against him.

An in fun audience is more critical for the public speaker who is there to entertain, but the concept should be in the back of every speakers mind. Your material may be controversial by nature, but that doesn’t mean that you should go out of your way to do or say things that will take the audience further out of in fun.

Also, pay close attention to the total program. One friend of mine had to present comical material just after a passionate plea went out to the audience to collect funds for starving babies. He came on stage just after the teary-eyed audience had seen slides of emaciated children. If you ever get caught in this situation, DON’T start right in with your humorous material. Start out gently with a sincere reference to what the audience has just seen. Cut most of your early speaking humor and get to your subject to ease the audience’s transition to your more lighthearted topic.

How do you put in fun into practice? One time I had a ventriloquist introduce me at an early morning meeting to wake up everyone and get them in fun. You could pass out fun snacks to the audience or put balloons on their chairs. Public announcements and agendas can be decorated with cartoon characters. Funny props are great for putting people in fun. Do anything you can to be sure your audience knows that it’s OK to laugh.

Closing the Sale – Timing is Crucial

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Waiting until the end of the sales process before closing a
sale is akin to waiting until the last ten minutes of a flight to
Venus before making course corrections. In both cases,
there is a very low probability of success.

It is of little value to wait until after presenting your product
or service to begin applying “closing techniques”. You
must create a sound foundation for the sale throughout the
sales process. Without that foundation, salespeople feel
pressured and trigger prospects’ natural resistance: The
probable outcome is lost opportunities and lack of sales.

Top salespeople, the Top 1%, close at the beginning of the
sale, and many times throughout the sales process:

  • They spend most of their time with people able, willing,
and ready to buy – these are High Probability Prospects.
  • They only do business with prospects they respect, and
who, in turn, respect them: These are genuine business
relationships, with both parties mutually agreeing to move
forward each step of the sales process.
  • This Mutual Respect results in Total Disclosure of the
prospect’s needs, wants and buying intentions- as well as
Total Disclosure of the product’s/service’s benefits and
    limitations.
  • Mutual Agreements and Mutual Commitments happen
early, and often, throughout the sales process.
  • These mutual agreements lead to Closed Sales: the
‘Closing’ is the sum total of the entire series of agreements.
Closing must begin at the initial stages of the sales process.

During the sales process, almost any point of discussion
provides an opportunity for a commitment. It’s as simple
as asking:

  • “This system will produce at least 20% more sales by
salespeople that utilize it. Is that what you want?”
  • “Is it profitable to spend between approximately $3500
per salesperson to achieve that magnitude of result?”
  • “The system requires that your salespeople learn a new
    sales process. Is that acceptable?”

Each ‘Yes’ to questions like these is a commitment, and
integrates ‘Closing’ throughout the Sales Process. Depending
on your products and services, closing should occur between
25 and 45 times before consummating the sale.

If this sounds simple, it is. If it sounds easy, it is not. It
requires preparation, so that every point of discussion is
followed by a simple request for commitment or acceptance.
It also requires a thorough understanding of a sales process
that appeals to the way the human mind works.

By the end of the sales process, most prospects will have
agreed that every one of your product’s features is acceptable,
and they also will have acknowledged your product’s benefits to
them. At that point, it is an easy, natural transition to ask the prospect what s/he wants to do to acquire your product or
service. In most cases, the prospects will create the consum-
mation of the sale. That is, they will design the final close for
the salesperson’s approval.

If this were a sales discussion, rather than an educational
monologue, I would have asked for a commitment -
a closing question – on each point. Go back through this
article and see how many closing opportunities you can find.

Video Poker Basics

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Playing video poker is a slightly different game than playing traditional table poker. Instead of trying to make a hand that will beat your fellow players, the whole point of video poker is to get a hand that will make money. Most video poker games operate on a jacks or better concept, so these basics will apply to the majority of games.

First of all, never, ever, draw all five cards if you have a jack or higher in your hand. You should keep one high card in your hand, because that is what will qualify you to collect. If you don’t have a high card, you can’t win. It’s that simple. So keep your high cards, and throw back the rest.

Video poker is very much a game of pairs. Pairs are your ticket to winning, because they are the easiest hand to achieve. And when you are playing against a computer, you don’t have to worry about another player getting a higher hand. So stick to your pairs. A word of advice about pairs in video poker- you don’t need a kicker. It will never come down to a showdown between you and the computer where you will need a kicker to decide your fate. So let go of the kicker, it will help you out in the long run.

Shoot the Three Act Structure and the Four Act Structure

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Three or Four Act Structure. What the hell is that? Shoot them both, bury them in a shallow grave and let the crows and maggots pick on their rotten bones.

I feel sorry for all the screenwriters or writers out there that have had to sit through the waffle of Three or Four Act Structure and then spent endless hours wondering what to write.

Three Act structure is like saying that a meal consists of a starter, main course and dessert. Four Act structure is like saying there is a break in between the main course for a sip of wine.

These analyses do not tell the writer what to write. For that you need the cookbook. And the best cookbook there is, is the Hero’s Journey.

The Hero’s Journey is the template upon which the cast majority of successful screenplays are built upon. Films as diverse as Gladiator (2000), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Raging Bull (1980) and Scarface (1983) were all constructed around the Hero’s Journey Template.

Three and Four Act Structures were formulated as a broad outline by some dudes that didn’t even make it into fifth grade (Aristotle, Socrates, Homer et al). Old School.

Four Act Structure is popular in places where they remain proud of a civilisation that died nearly two thousand years ago. Italy. It’s the sun.

The Complete 188 stage Hero’s Journey and FREE 17 stage sample and other story structure templates can be found at http://managing-creativity.com/.
